- Backup
- A copy of data kept separately so it can be restored if the original is lost or damaged.

- Certificate of conformity
- A document confirming that goods meet the technical requirements of the importing country.
- Certificate of origin
- A document stating the country where goods were made. Form ST-1 is used for preferential treatment within the CIS.
- CIS free trade area
- A free trade agreement between several former Soviet countries, including Uzbekistan and Russia, that can reduce duties on qualifying goods.
- CMR
- The international consignment note used for road freight.
- Consolidation (groupage)
- Combining smaller shipments from different suppliers or clients into one container or truck.
- Customs declaration
- The official statement submitted to customs with details of the goods, their value and origin.
- Customs value
- The value of goods used to calculate duties and taxes, usually based on the price paid plus certain costs.

- Database
- An organised store of data that software can search, update and connect to other systems.
- Double landlocked
- A country surrounded only by other landlocked countries. Uzbekistan and Liechtenstein are the only two.

- Excise tax
- An additional tax on specific goods, such as some fuels, alcohol and tobacco.

- Foreign trade contract
- The contract between a buyer and a seller in different countries, required for import and export payments.

- Hosting
- Running a website or application on servers so that it's available online.
- HS code
- The Harmonised System product code used by customs worldwide to classify goods.
I
- Incoterms
- International rules that define the responsibilities of buyers and sellers in a delivery. The current version is Incoterms 2020.
- Integration
- Connecting two or more software systems so they share data automatically.

- Landed cost
- The total cost of a product once it arrives: price, freight, insurance, duties, taxes and fees.
- Lead time
- The time between placing an order and receiving the goods.
- Letter of credit
- A bank's guarantee that the seller will be paid once they present the agreed documents.

- Packing list
- A document listing the contents, weight and dimensions of each package in a shipment.
R
- Railway waybill (SMGS)
- The transport document used for rail freight between many Eurasian countries.
T
- TIR carnet
- An international customs transit document that lets sealed trucks cross borders with fewer checks.
- Transit
- Moving goods through a third country on the way to their destination, under customs control.
V
- VAT
- Value added tax. Charged on imports into Uzbekistan at the standard rate, currently 12%.
